I hold a Master's degree in Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with decades of experience. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals, and families, helping them navigate life's challenges with compassion and evidence-based strategies. I submit insurance claims to most insurance providers.

About Stefanie

I am a therapist who integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support clients in navigating challenges with anxiety, OCD, and related concerns. My experience as a teacher, school-based mental health counselor, and parent has shaped a well-rounded and practical approach to therapy, allowing me to connect with clients and families from multiple perspectives. In addition, I am trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based treatment program designed to help children and adolescents struggling with anxiety and OCD. While children do not attend SPACE sessions, they are always at the heart of the work, with parents empowered as the agents of change.

About My Practice

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, so my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and understood from the very first session. Our first meeting is focused on getting to know you (or your child), learning more about the challenges you’ve been facing, and talking through the goals you’d like to work toward in therapy. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and identify practical ways to help you move forward feeling more confident and in control.

I work with children, teens, and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, stress, school concerns, relationship difficulties, or family challenges. I believe that behaviors often make more sense when we understand the emotions underneath them. Anxiety and emotional distress can show up in many ways, including avoidance, irritability, lack of motivation, negative self-talk, difficulty coping, or unhealthy behaviors. Therapy is a place to better understand those patterns while learning healthier coping skills, communication strategies, and tools to manage life’s challenges more effectively.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients better understand anxious thoughts, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build healthier responses over time. For parents of children struggling with anxiety or OCD, I also offer SPACE therapy, a parent-based treatment that teaches caregivers supportive strategies to help children become more confident and independent in managing their emotions. While children do not attend SPACE sessions, they remain the focus of the work, with parents serving as an important part of the change process.

Above all, I want clients to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and hopeful. Therapy is not about being perfect—it’s about learning new ways to respond to challenges, understanding yourself more fully, and creating meaningful change one step at a time.
